Today was the first day, since I can remember, that I woke up and thought, I have nothing to do today. What a glorious feeling! I thought for sure fate would smote me for having this thought by immediately sending me into labor, but the day stretched on, fabulously slow, and I just got to revel in the feeling of having nowhere to be and nothing to do. I took my LAST final ever in my master's program yesterday (yay!), and now have only my thesis to complete by December. But it is on my own time, with no class commitment, and I am already started on it, which makes me feel as though the finish line really is just around the corner. The thousand pound weight lifted off my shoulder by taking that final yesterday is almost indescribable. My frantic, depressed posts of past months about shedding extra baggage in life may actually diminish as a result of this development!
So, with no homework weighing down my conscience, no Alexa this weekend to care for and play with, a baby still in my belly, and just a lazy Sunday mentality to greet the day, husband and I had the best day. We washed our cars and cleaned out the insides. We spent an hour at the pool. I took a nap. We cooked and ate dinner together. Husband cleaned out the garage and bathed our very smelly hound dog. We cooked up some secret dreams for our future house. It probably seems almost...boring. But it was great. We have been robbed of these kinds of luxuries by a too, too hectic life schedule in the past years. It was nice to just fritter away the day doing normal people things. I actually felt human again.
We ended our day here:
It wasn't complete though, without a cushy set up for our little hound friend, who wanted to partake in the fire festivities as well...
Aaaahhh...Happy Sunday :)
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
